| Ben CONARD of Philadelphia received this
postcard from L. FRAIM, who wrote that he (or she) wished that Ben
was there "to eat and sleep and walk as much as I am doing."
The writer added that it wasn't especially
exciting there, but he/she was staying at a lovely location right on
Casco Bay, would be going to a "500" that evening, and had
received Ben's mother's letter.
The card was postmarked July 24, 1924 at
Yarmouth, Maine, and bears a 1 cent stamp.
You'll have to be the judge as to
whether the name is actually spelled CONARD or COUARD, by inspecting the
reverse side of this card and also the postcard
from The Old Fort Inn at Kennebunkport, Maine. And while the
handwriting appears to be similar, the signatures don't seem to be the
same. Click here to see a similar view, taken almost at the same spot!
